Flower Frenzy in the GORGE! Free Presentation Hillsboro REI

I am posting this event that is really being put on by REI because I know many of you will be interested in this and it's free but keep in mind - it's an REI event and you have to register with REI to go. As of today 3/4/13 there are 27 open spots!!! If someone wants to host for our group it will help our members meet with each other at the event. Otherwise you will have to email each other ahead of time if you want to know how to find our meetup members at the event.

Hillsboro REI — It's Flower Frenzy in the GORGE!

  • Time: 6:30 - 8:00 PM PST
  • Presenter: Maegan Jossy, Friends of Gorge
  • Group Size: 50

Description: The Columbia River Gorge hosts over 800 different flowers; 15 of which are found nowhere else in the world! Learn from Maegan Jossy, Outdoor Program Coordinator for Friends of the Columbia Gorge where to see these stunning displays of wildflowers and when to hit the trail for peak blooms! She'll tell you about the latest hiking challenge Flower Frenzy and Friends' new recreation vision Gorge Towns to Trails, a vision for a comprehensive trail system that wraps around the Columbia Gorge, linking communities with recreation, benefiting tourism, and highlighting and enhancing the beauty and wonder of the Columbia Gorge.

Very interesting! I'm new in the area, and this talk provided a lot of good information about some very cool hikes. Thanks :)

Just a reminder - you need to register directly with REI for this event. An RSVP to the meetup group does not register you with REI. To register read the instructions in the write up on the meetup page. Click on the link provided to go to the REI website to register. Let me know if the link isn't working or if the class is full. Have fun!
