Before you request to join this group:  A current clear photo of YOUR FACE is REQUIRED for group membership.

Portland Patrons of the Arts (PPOA) is a group of art enthusiasts who live in the Portland area. We promote Cultural and Creative Arts & Music. Your membership will give you the exclusive experience with PPOA discounts from our group Sponsors for Art and Theater events ranging from 20% to 25%.
"Our mission is to awaken love for art through an intimate experience of its various expressions, and thereby inspiring enthusiastic support for our Art Community."
The Art Patron is anyone interested in supporting, planning and attending arts and cultural events.
Dues: There is a One Time cost of $10.00 to help cover the Meetup fees. Once you have paid, I will mark your Dues Status as EXEMPT to prevent any further Dues request from Meetup. If you have paid Dues in one of my other groups (The Feisty Side of 55! or 45+ Social Friends), please send me a private message on Meetup Messenger and I will mark your Dues Status as EXEMPT. You need only pay for one group to join one, two, or all three for one low price.

If you decide to NOT remain in this group, you must remove yourself prior to the end of the Trial Membership to avoid paying the $10.00 Membership Fee. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS!

Our goal is to be able to provide our Art Patrons with affordable experiences with a personal touch. PPOA  asks for the member to purchase his or her own ticket to an event that has a cost. However, the organizer may arrange to have seats together held whenever possible, within a window of time, to insure that members have the opportunity to sit together during an event. We will also continue to set up a meeting place before or after the event, dependent on its timing, whenever possible. Happy hours are always an option before an event and the late happy hours that Portland restaurants provide work well for post-event gatherings.

We will collaborate with other art and music meetup groups on occasion and will strive to have hosted events (barring any emergencies). We will continue to strive to provide the best savings for our events. Our sponsors, hopefully, will continue to provide discounts that range from 20% to 25% or more for groups of 10 or more members. The leadership team will always look for the opportunity of other discounts. We will also post large public events that may be of interest for you to consider bringing your family and/or friends.
Our rules of membership will continue. A new member must be approved by an organizer after he or she completes the online form, agrees to our terms of decorum and treating others in a friendly manner, promises to update RSVPs in a timely fashion and provide a current photo of his or her face; no cartoons or pets or scenes.  PPOA does not allow members to promote their own business ventures that are not Art/Music/Dance related on our site at any time, nor any reposting of our events on other sites except when a member of our Leadership Team arranges to collaborate with another group for specific events. Members may not  use the PPOA site for anything except RSVPs, appropriate comments and/or questions about an event or suggestions for an art event that is in line with our mission (second paragraph above).  PPOA organizers have the right to remove from membership, anyone who disrupts an event or makes inappropriate comments to another member.
Reminder: Please provide a RECOGNISABLE headshot photo of yourself for your profile for this group. Your membership will not be approved without an approved photo.
