The final film in Micha X. Peled's Globalization Trilogy examines the epidemic of suicides amongst India's cotton farmers, deeply in debt after switching to genetically modified seeds.
After the film, Mark Des Marets, a co-founder of NW Resistance Against Genetic Engineering (NW RAGE) will facilitate a discussion after the 88-minute film.
"Northwest Resistance Against Genetic Engineering (NW RAGE) is a non-violent, grassroots organization dedicated to promoting the responsible, sustainable and just use of agriculture and science. We are working towards a ban on genetic engineering and patents on life. Our efforts focus on education, community building, advocacy and action."
Seeds left over from our seed swap will be available for sharing. Bring some to offer if you can! There is a suggested donation of $5 for the evening, nobody turned away. These funds are used to pay for the showing license and the room use fees. We're looking for a room sponsor and a movie sponsor to support us in this recurring monthly endeavor. Let us know if you are interested!
