PDX Permaculture Message Board › We have a room available in a beautiful SE home with huge garden
Greetings pdx permaculture folks,
I thought to first of all post this here being a network of folks who like to work the soil!
We have a room for sure July 1st and we think earlier depending on our one housemate who is moving out's plans. She may end up leaving mid month.
We have a nice house and garden scene near 52nd and Burnside and are looking for a housemate who ideally is into gardening, permaculture, building topsoil and other projects to share this beautiful space.
There are three of us more or less in the house between 20s-40s: a law student working on food justice issues (female), an immigrant rights activist/poet who now will be mostly in SF for the GMO labeling campaign (male) and a graphic designer (female).
We have 4 rooms in the house, and are looking to fill one upstairs--which has an upstairs shared new bathroom and a good amount of storage space.
We are splitting house costs, each room is $550 each. Utilities not included. Talk to me about the possibility of working off about $100 of rent if need be, but can’t do much more than that. The whole house including all rooms and bathrooms has hardwood doug fir floors and lots of light.
The backyard and front yard are about 1/4 acres. We have manifested quite a bit since moving in and still lots of soil to build and plants to grow! We also have 7 chickens, 4 ducks and a solo turkey. They bring lots of joy:)
It would be great to have someone who is engaged in the world, active and also centered, grounded and into manifesting a sustainable reality here on the micro level. Also, someone who is good at keeping the house clean and washing dishes, conscious of water use, naturally eco-minded, doesn’t have to be requested is sought. We like to be direct about any issues, hope you are as well, able to quickly resolve any problems, frustrations that might emerge in living together and quickly laugh after.
Please tell us about yourself, your interests, why you are looking for a home, your work situation to cover rent, and anything else that you may feel inspired to include.
