We finished it, but it was a slog. Not very satisfactory ending for the work to get through it. We had intended to be there for our first meeting, but then got sick. Hope to be there in February.

Unfortunately only 4 people managed to make it out this time but we managed to have a decent discussion I think. Although not everyone enjoyed the book, it provided a fair number of conversation topics. I happened to like it overall, but I have a high tolerance for boring protagonists and procedural minutiae.

I just couldn't finish it. I really tried...

I picked it up again after finishing MadAddam (worth it if you liked Oryx & Crake and read Year of the Flood), but it's hard to get enthused about a protagonist that thinks that talking about capital gains tax is great dinner date conversation. For those that finished it, is it worth it?

It moved glacially slow. I needed to put it down when there was yet another discussion of his taste in lager beer. I, too, would love to know if the conclusion of the book was worth slogging through it.

I have a copy waiting for me at the library; I'll probably have read it by the next meeting (Incrementalists) so I can tell you whether or not to bother j/k :P

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
