It's hard to be definite in terms of rankings, so here are three that I really liked: The City and the Stars - Arthur C. Clarke. Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde - R L Stevenson (I felt I should include an older book). The Martian Chronicles - Ray Bradbury.
Just Yet Another Engineer who likes SF. I read a lot when I was younger, but languished in the last decade. This sounds like a good opportunity to jump start my reading.
I really enjoy the club. It's often hard finding like minded people who enjoy many of the same things I do (not to mention are much more likely to get obscure references that are bandied about!). I don't go every month, and whenever I do go, I almost back out with some pretext (I live far away and the traffic to get there isn't fun). But it's definitely been worth it each time!
