99W Drive-in Theater, Newberg

Folks - You don't have to click not attending if you are not going unless you have already RSVP'd yes. If you RSVP yes, we will look for you at the Newberg Fred Meyer Deli (picking up last minute snacks and drinks).

Here's a link:

This is for fun and an experience.

Check the link re fees/radios, etc.

I've picked a Sat night so my hubby can come. Doesn't look like we are renting a convertible. :( We want to be in line early enough to pick a good spot.

I don't know what is playing yet, but I plan on going anyway.

Here's what I previously wrote.

Summer Fun! One of the 4 remaining drive-in theaters in Oregon, the 99W Drive-in Theater in Newberg is open for Fri/Sat/Sun shows. The movies start at dusk and sometimes they sell out an hour before the shows start.

They are double feature. Your $8 pays for both. If you want to come to just the 2nd, I think all the spots will be taken.

You need a portable radio and extra batteries if your car radio requires the car to be on to play. Your headlights - daytime driving lights - have to be off during the show.

If you bring folding chairs, they have to be set up in front of your car.

If people come at different times, you can't save a spot beside you. So we may want to drive in together.

A car with 1 person is charged $12, so it is best to car pool. I think renting a convertable would be fun.

I expect there's more to work out, but ladies and gentlemen, drive-in theaters are a wonderful movie experience.

So this is up for discussion. I think maybe in August since folks are in a push for the WW conference. What'ca think?

How solid is the 5:45 time given the movie starts at dusk? I haven't been to sleep tonight, so since I don't think I can make Newberg by that time, I'll unRSVP. Hope you enjoy the shows!

meet at 6:45 at Freddies. Or get in line a little later at the drive-in itself. When you get inside, text my hubby[masked] and we'll let you know where we are parked.

ATTENTION - For the DRIVE-IN it is $8 per person, not $12 for a car (Initially, I misread the cost). That is for a double feature. They have changed the shows. Now playing is Planes and Grown-Ups 2. Both the cost and shows may make a difference in if you want to join us. Please let me know if you can/cannot make it. Thanks, Roz

Here's a link: Not this coming weekend, but maybe the next. This coming weekend is Trek in the Park at Cathedral Park. Check it out.

This sounds like fun. Anyone have a 4 seat convertible? August after the conference would be a good time.

This convertible seats 4 and can be rented in PDX - There seams to be a limited number of styles to choose from for rental. I expect it fit/svelte/limber people who sit in the back.

:) I don't know what kind of convertibles are available for rent. I'm going to start checking sometime in July. We'd probably set up a meeting/time spot in Newberg, gather and drive over to the theater from there.
