Ski Bowl New Year's Eve Extravaganza Ski Party

Join us on December 31, 2011 starting at 3:00 pm until January 1, 2012 @ 2:00 am for Ski Bowl New Year's Eve Extravaganza!

For 24 years, Skibowl has been the place to ring in the New Year and this year will be even bigger! In addition to live music, the slope-side Beer Garden, and the legendary fireworks display at midnight and riding until 2 a.m, Skibowl will be staging a dramatic pre-fireworks Torchlight Parade down the Lower Bowl run. The illuminating event will feature members of the Mt. Hood Race Team and their families along with community leaders from Government Camp who, together in formation, will blaze a trail down the darkened Lower Bowl.

The closest resort from Portland, Ski Bowl offers the most night skiing terrain in North America, the largest variety of black diamond slopes on Mount Hood and currently has the best snow coverage.

Ski Bowl gave us the best New Year's Eve party ever. With 11 new inches of fresh powder the night before, clear skies, no wind and perfect temperatures, the conditions could not have been any better. We skied from 2 pm to 2 am, in an abundance of fresh, thick snow from top to bottom that made for unmatched skiing. The torch parade by Mt Hood's Ski Team and fireworks were magnificent, there were foods and drinks galore at every chalet on the slopes and the staff and company was as great as always. Had never seen Ski Bowl so crowded, the atmosphere was great!

I will keep posting Ski Bowl events ~ if the executive team agrees ;) I am skiing Bowl twice a week, every week, most of the season. Be lovely to meet some of you out there. Jasper - You've been to my native Principality ! I'm a deep sea rescue diver there ... miss the Mediterranean Blue deeply... Thank God for Mount Hood in the meantime ;)

Thanks Bob & Jasper for the positive comments. Just heard from my Mt. Hood Patrol friends at Ski Bowl, they have 7 inches of new powder again. I was there last weekend, skiing under heavy snow fall in what was snow board heaven with so much fresh powder coverage. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. We'll be there with my friends. Anyone wanting to drop by at the last minute - simply text me on my cell.

I'll look for another ski day MeetUp with you this season - usually go to Meadows so maybe nice to try somewhere different. (ps: I've been to Monaco - tres jolie!)

I think this sounds like a great idea!I haven't skied Ski Bowl in a long time and I'm not convinced conditions will be very good, but it sounds fun.

Likely so, Jasper. And the fact I only posted this announcement this week! Well, I'll be there regardless. I'm a Ski Bowl NUT ;) I'm there every week, in all atmospheric conditions ;)

There is no cost for this event Shelly. If you have a Fusion or a Ski Bowl Ski Pass, skiing on the day and night of the event is entirely free. If not, day or night (or both) ski passes can be bought according to the hours you plan on skiing that day. The fireworks and Mt. Hood Race Team exhibitions are free. Food and drinks are bought at the restaurants and/or booths. It is a open event for all.

I hosted the Mt. Hood Meadows' version of this party a few years back; only had 3 attendees.

Guess it's hard to get people to rally out-of-town. Looks like this year weather could be an issue as it was for us... have fun!
