Tele or Randonee back country ski on Gnarl Ridge

Here’s a great opportunity to get your back country ski equipment back into shape with a  10 mile excursion around up to Gnarl Ridge, then up to the Gates of Heaven to ski the back side of this treeed area. Experience the new snow, unexplored areas of the East side of Mt Hood.

Full day.  Advanced back country experience for those who are comfortable with turns but want to stay safe and out of avalanche danger. Fairly steep and aggressive.

    Back from some awesome skiing. A nice 6 inches of powder on top of a stable base. Non aggressive, skiing trees at no more than 20 degree slopes. Picts and maps attached.
    This is a great area-fairly easy to reach, and has some nice sub alpine and big tree skiing.

    Yep, it is heavy Avy danger. But, there's always safe places within the mountain range in which to travel. This is where we travel.
