I think a relevant discussion for this group would be one regarding patriarchy and philosophy, since the group is being used as a weapon to reinforce rape culture. last year Edward brought Derrick into my bedroom and watching while he sexually assaulted me, then a group of Socrates Cafe members did everything they could to silence me when I wanted dialog about it, including telling lies about and slandering me, making false reports to DHS, and filing a bogus restraining order to keep me away from Socrates Cafe meetings... just to keep me from talking about Edward and Derrick's rape culture replication within Socrates Cafe. is Socrates Cafe "good"? absent men like Edward and Derrick, who use intimidation and shaming to perpetuate their exploitative patriarchy, it could be a very interesting and helpful group to attend. just apparently not for me, because I protested when Edward attempted to pass me around to other group members as if I was his property.

I dont think this group has anything to do with "sex positive" "massage exchange" "Sacred tantra" "dating and relationships" "singles and couples" or "flirting" this should be removed from our groups description of what we are about. its not that we are against any of these things they are just not relevant to the nature of the group or our values.

This meeting was excellent. Those of us that were there to have fun and get to know others did. Those that were there to jabber a bunch of nonsense did. They were talking about visual narratives being sensory or something. I think everyone got something out of it.
