Before I commit I want to say I am concerned that no one showed up last month' facilitator's meeting and I don't want to do that again. Also there is a serious problem relating to a relationship issue between Socrates members M. and E. I went to the Southeast meeting last week and no one was there except M. and her son and she wanted to speak out against her treatment in that relationship. I don't think this is a good use of Socrates time, though I understand her need to speak out. I am concerned that the lack of attendance at the meetings shows Socrates Cafe to the public as unreliable and and the unresolved conflict as emotionally unstable. I think this is not not what Socrates is about and that people interested in maintaining Socrates should discuss how they want to do it. The facilitator's meeting would be as good a place as any.

There are structural rules that can be followed, such as, after you have spoken, you must wait 5 minutes, or until the conversation has gone around the table, so that things will cool off, and everyone has a chance to rethink. Individuals whom wish to 'defend', could do so, but they must wait. Also, invoke a "no interruptions" rule, and of course a time limit, as necessary. Of course, it's difficult, but one must always avoid making comments that are personal.

Are you kidding me Tom? Yours is not a fun comment. This group is all about having fun. It's all about becoming funner and more interesting people. We are not here to criticize each other(generally) unless it's done in a very witty way. For instance how Patrick always insinuates I'm too old. It kind of bugs me, but I don't even know what it means. Did you know you could promote the group yourself? You can download a file on this site to make promotional cards and fliers. Soon there will be a bunch of people that you can accept coming to the meetings. Love u, mean it, Eric

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
