4-mile Wildwood TR Hike, TH, 11/7 @ 2:00 pm.

Join Portland Trail Trekkers for a mid-week hike on the Wildwood Trail on Thursday, 11/7 @ 2:00 pm. We will hike the Wildwood section between NW Newton Road to Firelane 15 and back for a 4-mile hike. This is a great trail with little elevation gain (perhaps 250 ft total) and hikers will be expected to keep up a moderate pace (about 2 mph). I am a moderately-fast hiker and enjoy a good workout. Please keep this in mind before RSVPing to the event.

This will be a mindful hike and hikers are expected to wear weather-appropriate clothing and carry water/Gatorade and wear hiking boots/trail shoes (leave the flip-flops at home). Though this will be a mindful hike, our 4-legged hiking pals (dogs) will be allowed on the event. This is an adults-only hike (18 years and older) and hikers are required to bring a flashlight/headlamp, as we will be completing this hike as it is getting dark. If you have a spot on this hike and your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you know! THX.

We will meet at the Wildwood Trail's Newton Road Parking Area. I drive a red Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck. The Newton Road Parking Area is 1/3 mile north of the intersection of NW Newton Road and NW Skyline Blvd. Turn on Newton Road and drive 1/3 of a mile north till the end of Newton Road. Newton Road is just a little over 1/2 mile NW of Germantown Road off of NW Skyline Blvd.

There are no public restrooms at this trailhead. I plan on being off the trail by 4:30 pm (approximately). Hikers are advised not to leave anything of value in their parked vehicles while out on the hike. If your plans change and you have to cancel your spot on this hike, please update your RSVP promptly. THX!

I'm sorry I missed it. The weather cleared here right at 2 pm, but was looking pretty iffy at 1:30, when I would have had to leave. Lesson-have faith!

Plenty of sunshine and a quiet forest provided for a scenic hike into a quiet section of the Wildwood Trail. THX for coming out, PTTers...!

Likely won't make it. Don't think my gear is up for this much rain. If it seems like it has cleared up enough, I'll be there.

I was really looking forward to this hike but life has happened and I won't be able to make it after all. Have a great time.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
