Join Portland Trail Trekkers as we hike (not stroll) the micro-size pocket of wild at Woods Memorial Natural Area for a night hike on Monday, 11/11 @ 6:00 pm. Located in Portland's Multnomah Village neighborhood, Woods is a green oasis and a relatively unknown park. Hikers should wear boots or trail shoes (leave the flip-flops at home) and bring water/Gatorade. This will be a moderately fast-paced hike and hikers will enjoy a workout in one of SW PDX's undiscovered natural areas. Since this is a night hike, Portland Trail Trekkers will need to bring a flashlight/head lamp. If you have a red or blue filter for your light even better. Plenty of hills on this hike guarantee a nice after-work workout.
This will be a "mindful" hike and dogs WILL NOT be allowed on this trek. The park is home to great horned owls, coyote, and black-tail deer. We will hike its hills and enjoy a mindful workout with like-minded trekkers. Woods Park is a green and wooded oasis located in SW Portland near Multnomah Village. Great Horned owls have been spotted on many of our past hikes at Woods, and we will stop, look and listen for owls.
The three-mile hike is one of my favorite locations for an after-work hike. An optional post-hike fuel up will be available after the trek in Multnomah Village. This will be an adults-only hike (18 years old and up) and we will stop and listen for owls. I plan on being off the trail by 7:15 (approximately).
If you have a spot on this hike and your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you know! THX.
