Join Portland Trail Trekkers for a 'mindful' trek as we hike from Lower Macleay Park to Cornell Road and back for a 4-mile hike on Thursday, 11/21 @ 2 pm. We will enjoy the natural beauty of Balch Creek, the scenic stone house ruins, and enjoy the company of like-minded trekkers. We will also stop by the Audubon property to hike and have a short sit-spot in a scenic setting. No dogs will be allowed on this event.
This will be a moderately fast-paced hike (about 2 mph)and hikers can expect to gain 440 feet in elevation. Hikers should wear weather-appropriate clothing, boots or trail shoes (leave the flip-flops at home), carry water/Gatorade; and since we will be finishing the hike as it getting dark, hikers should carry a flashlight/headlamp. I plan on finishing the hike by approximately 5pm.
This will be a 'mindful' hike, and our 4-legged pals (dogs) Will Not be allowed on this event. This will be an adults-only hike (18 years old and up) and will be moderately strenous due to the pace. We will meet under the pavilion near the restrooms at the Lower Macleay Park trailhead.
If you have a spot on this hike and your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you know! THX. Hikers are advised not to leave anything of value in their parked vehicles at the trailhead's parking lot.
