Looking for one last chance to get up high before the weather turns? Still in prime mid-summer hiking condition? Then this outing is for you. I'm not going to lie; it's a wee bit steep, especially at the beginning, but a lookout tower (and, obviously, views to look out on, particularly nearby Mt. Hood and the surrounding Salmon-Huckleberry wilderness) is your reward at the end. Alas, the copious rhodies will not be in bloom, but you can't have everything now, can you?
We will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Gateway transit center. Please bring plenty of water, enough food, clothing appropriate for autumn (i.e. layers), 10 essentials, etc. If you have any questions about what to bring or about this hike, please contact me by email or at[masked], cell[masked]-7908.
