Our regular Third Thursday program this month will feature a presentation from a family’s adventures in Alaska:
After walking thousands of miles through harsh and beautiful wilderness, Erin and Hig now must adjust to the short legs of a toddler and the weight of a newborn baby while exploring the farthest reaches of Alaska. The family of four visits remote Arctic villages, and lives for two months atop one of the world’s largest glaciers, witnessing the dramatic impacts of climate change.
Whether facing down a curious grizzly, weathering a storm, or catching fish for the freezer, their unconventional life allows them to experience--and share--the intersection of commerce, wilderness, and community in America's wildest state.
