Kriek (and other fruit wilds) Bottleshare

This will be a oude kriek-focused bottleshare, so you can't go wrong with a one of those -- we can geek out on different years, slightly different cherries, etc. If attendance is high, I'm sure some other fruit wilds would be welcome -- American variants of kriek, a Hanssen's Experimental Cassis (my personal favorite), an Upright Fantasia, a Cantillon Fou' Foune...Don't be shy! As always, there's a full kitchen, so if you want to bring a Belgian dark chocolate cake to bake right here, I won't stop you.

Yours,

Tracy

Doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to make it. I've got a long night of blending beers ahead of me. Hope you guys have a good time. See you at Saraveza next weekend perhaps.

Hey folks, I'm super sorry I was MIA on Friday night. Alice was feeling ill, so I decided to keep her company. Looking forward to the next one!

Wish I could make it but I won't be getting out of work in time. Have fun!

Jesse, you're welcome to come later. The 5:30 start time is super early and soft. I had in mind kind of a rolling open house thing on other tastings. That doesn't work a well for this one and I just didn't think to move the time. What's out to taste might change, but there will be new consumption for hours. I have a friend coming at 9:30 who I promised "after party" availability...

I'll be bringing one of each of Double Mountain's krieks.

    One 375ml bottle each of:
Hanssen's Oude Kriek, brewed Jan 2013
Oud Beersel Oude Kriek Vielle, best by 10/03/2030
    Kriek Boon, best by 03/05/2016

If someone brings the Hanssen's Scarenbecca drink with my Hanssen's, I will love you forever.

As these are all 375ml bottles, we should really aim to have at least two of each. So I encourage you to bring some Belgian oude kriek to get our core volume up! I have several American sour or wild cherry beers and will bring them if someone else mentions bringing 375ml of one. I have one dusty bottle of Supplication which I might open up next to Jeremy's to have enough to go around...

I could bring small bottles of oude kriek from Oud Beersel, Hanssen's, and/or Boon. I'll take a look at what others are bringing. If I'm employed by then, perhaps I'll just bring everything I've got. :)

Tracy, did you see that Double Mountain is also releasing their 2 of their Krieks at Belmont Station Wednesday evening? http://www.belmont-station.com I'm hoping to make my way over there around 6 to grab a few bottles.

Totes did, Jeremy. I'll be there early (around 4:30, I hope). I'll be there until about 6:30 when I need to start my walk to a dinner meet up. Find me! If something comes up and you can't make it, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you bottle wise.

Cosmic! I got this invite as I'm in the middle of racking my kriek off the Ballintine pie cherries it's been sitting on for the last 6 months. I've got a few bottles of previous vintages as well.

So you bottle at all? Ever since I've seen you were pouring Kriek, I've been trying to go drink some. But schedules and Mother Nature got in the way. Still any? I almost headed out to Double Mountain's Kriek release yesterday, but I managed to realize that was wrong-headed Coloradan and upstate-New Yorker arrogance that may have killed me.

Hopefully bottling everything out of our wine bbls (solera#1, kriek, peche) by our anniversary in april. I can bring some DM to you. We are buried under snow for a while. Best stay in the city.
