I've been asked to reach out to the developers community about Startup Weekends. The creator really want developers to participate.

Startup Weekends are weekend-long events that are bring together designers, developers, marketers, managers and startup enthusiasts to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch start-ups. Participants have the option of pitching a new business idea on Friday night, then teams form around the best ideas and work all weekend to develop the business model. So far there has been almost 600 events in over 100 countries, involving 56,000 entrepreneurs, and starting thousands of new businesses.

Individual volunteers from PelotonLabs, Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development (MCED), the Portland Public Library, Maine Center for Creativity, Greendrinks, SMCC, Blackstone Accelerates Growth, and many other companies and organizations are working together to host this first event.
