New Meetup: Let's meet to share ideas, info & commiserate with fellow iPhone wranglers

Announcing a new Meetup for Portland iPhone Developers Network!

What: Are you (or do you aspire to be) a pro iPhone wrestler?

When: June 6,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: This meetup is intended to provide (new? confused?) local developers a means of support, via shared information & approaches ranging across the spectrum of iPhone development. The topics covered and technical level of the discussion will depend largely on the interests and skill level of those who attend.

Ideas welcome.
Members are invited to make short (5-25 minute) presentations toward the beginning of the Meetup without having mentioned it prior and/or propose ideas for a (future) meetup or suggest guest presenters to invite. The room is air-conditioned and well equipped with many new computers and a digital projector.

Regardless: I'll generally be prepared with ideas/questions aimed at advancing our abilities to make these @$#% gadgets do what we want them to do.

For example: I could share something I learned about at a Boston Meetup from App Store superhero Guiseppe Taibi about using Dashcode/Javascript to pull off apps that are not limited to the iPhone.

Examples of recurring subtopics that may arise if critical mass is detected:
- getting started
- overcoming appstore/codesigning issues
- nesting various UI controllers (tab bar, table, navigation)
- graphics creation in the PNG format (I've taught Photoshop for 15 years)
- bettering our Objective C (I'll be attending this class)
- advertising apps on blogads and Facebook (what I've tried)
- etc.

Sorry, but while the hallway outside the room could be positively Bacchanalian, room 207 is to be food-free.

If attendance is low, no problem. Smaller groups would be great.

I hope to see you there and/or hear from you in advance.
