Based on requests from a couple of members, we're having our May meeting in Oregon's first city at a family-run Pizza parlor, Mi Famglia Wood Oven Pizzeria. But let's meet somewhere else first! (Nearby parking can be a problem.) Let's meet and park on 6th Street, north of High Street, and take the Municipal Elevator down to lunch. MAP

Mi Famiglia has a menu focused on pizza, calzones, paninis, but also has salads and other Italian entrées. They also have great deserts!

The Oregon City Municipal Elevator is the only outdoor city elevator in the US and one of only four in the world. Oregon City, as you may know, was the first city in the United States west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated. Established in 1829, during the 1840s and 1850s it was the destination for those wanting to file land claims after traveling the Oregon Trail as the last stop on the trail. It incorporated, and was capitol of the Oregon Territory, in 1848. The plat map for the city of San Francisco was recorded in Oregon City. While Oregon is celebrating its 150th birthday this year, OC is even older.

The food was great. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a cold beer but I had to come back to work. All the people were great and there was alot of information shared. Thank Bill for putting this together. I had a great time.

The surprise showing of a 2010 Prius was icing on the cake!

Excellent restaurant choice with good food and good atmosphere. Very nice touch using tge Oregon City elevator. Coordination with Gresham Toyota was a real plus. The company was fun to chat with, as usual.
