Monti's write-in

Monti's is great - low key cafe as part of an antique shop. Oldies music. They close at 4PM on Sundays. I am usually there 1-4PM, trying to write every Sunday to keep the momentum going. Come join in! This is a working session, but often we ask each other questions or advice on our writing.

Hope to see you there!

Hey everyone, , , I am somewhat nervous about joining and being a part of this group! Well not just this group but ALL of them. I have been a loner these past 10 years and now I want to get out and share my writing with others; at least, get the momentum going!

Is it possible to get that 'gift' of writitng back when you once had it?

I think of writing like I do singing and any creative act: it's always there inside you, it's just whether you choose to block it off or not... whether you can get past your fears and get to the core of your creative energy again. There are all sorts of reasons for writing - some people write for themselves and have no other ambitions - some people want to get published... the reason I like to get together with others is that I then have a reason to go - same reason exercising with a buddy works better - what? you can't not come to writing, because I'm going to be there! I think most people write in solitude - and really, we're all writing that way - we're just doing it while all sitting around the same table. - it's a great way to share the pains and frustrations of trying to create, as well as share the triumphs.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
