This group began as a resource for the Portland region of participants of:

National Novel Writing Month (

National Novel Editing Month (

ScriptFrenzy (

WriYe (Formerly National Novel Writing Year) (

November is National Novel Writing Month, when a bunch of crazy people attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, but more about that at*

We offer regularly scheduled write-ins around Portland and environs year-round. Money raised through Portland NaNo will support 1) hosting of Portland NaNo at, and 2) event expenses for Portland region events surrounding and during NaNoWriMo. Dues are $5 annually, with a 90 day free trial.

The purpose of the site is to encourage people to write. Most of us need a little motivation to write. Saying you will be at a certain place at a certain time - it helps us show up and do the work.

Read through the posted meetups on our calendar and find one that fits what you want to do - then commit to going and working. If nothing on the calendar works for you, post your own meetup.

Get out there and WRITE!
