Howdy. I'm a wellness coach & intuitive, writer & adventurer. Love food, love potlucks even more. Sounds fun.
My approach is mainly intuitive, meaning, I pay attention to my body and what it needs along with what foods stand out that would be best for me at the moment. I have an educational background in nutrition (Certified as a Diet Counselor, MA in Holistic Health Education) which helps inform my choices as well. I go for local, organic, seasonal, whole. I'm also sensitive to foods, recently took a food intolerance test, and thus stay away from potatoes, grains, dairy, soy, agave, and no processed foods especially sugar. When I've broken those food rules, I get immediately reminded why it doesn't work for my body (major emotional, mental, & physical symptoms). I do believe that while there are some basic food guidelines that apply to all, each body is different & its needs vary over time. So I encourage people to amp up their intuition, get to know their body, and work with a skilled holistic practitioner/naturopath to get on the right track.
Mmmm, not sure if I'd call them concerns. I would like to experiment more with food, specifically raw vegan and Weston A. Price/Nourishing traditions. Ironic since they are opposite approaches in some fundamental ways. But they both have a superfood, nutrient dense component to them. Would love to learn more about cooking with spices. Also, I'm pregnant, so I'm looking to optimize my nutrition for being a healthy mama.
I walk daily, usually about an hour. I'm sporadically doing yoga. Still learning what's ok and not in regard to being pregnant and exercising. Would like to incorporate more strength training and core/pilates work, but want to make sure I work with knowledgeable folks when doing so.
Every week or every other week. I love potlucks!
Fairly flexible. I'd say anytime except Mondays.
Welcome to the SE Portland New Parents Network, Vanessa! I'm looking forward to meeting you and your son at an upcoming event. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for activities or questions in general.

Hi, I would love to join your happy hour group. Do you ever do it later in the evenings? By the way, 11-11 is MY birthday and it's a great one!
Hi, Vanessa! I wanted to send a greeting because I read your profile and see you're expecting. I'm pregnant too, and am due on September 8th (a boy, our first and hopefully only!). The book you mentioned sounds interesting. I haven't read any books about childbirth. I hope I'm ready, because our little guy will be here shortly!
Welcome to La Femme, Vanessa! Dang, I am loving your energy and your words, the way you invoke them and put them together. It seems we have a lot in common as Intuitives and coaches and on and on. I hope to meet you this or another Saturday! XO
Great to have you. I look forward to connecting soon.
