Multnomah Falls Trail Run

Register online for this race! It's going to be a hilly fun run :-)

The Start and Finish is at Wahkeena Falls Trailhead in Corbett, Oregon, just off the Historic Columbia River Highway. Map to the Start

Registration, pre-race check-in, and post-race award ceremony will be the Wahkeena Falls Park shelter. Approximately two miles are paved, and the rest is on sometimes fairly technical trail of sod, dirt and rock. The first half is obviously a steep incline, and the second half mostly downhill.

The clockwise route runs east along Return Trial #442, paralleling the Columbia River Highway, and merges onto the road for a bit just before Multnomah Falls Lodge. Here it heads up the stairs, along Larch Mt Trail #441 to the top of Multnomah Falls, and continues up the trail until another mile, intersecting with Wahkeena Falls Trail #420. The course goes up and over, following Wahkeena Falls Trail all the way down to finish at the bridge at Wahkeena Falls Trailhead. Course Map on trail system

The Race will have overall and age-group awards. The Walk will have awards for all finishers. You may walk during the Race and run during the Walk.

Hope to see you there!

I am thinking I would like to try this one, it isn't too late to sign up, is it? Is it a good one for a beginner to try? I have walked up Multnomah falls... and I would have no trouble running that distance on the road, this will just be my first "official" trail run! I know I wont be the leader of the pack but I can finish it! I have not done that specific trail, either, but it sounds like the perfect starter for me. Opinions?

Sorry for the delay Jennifer - I'm not sure about you but I'm probably going to end up walking up some of this :-) I think it's worth giving it a shot and hope to see you out there!
