Let's play/learn Castles of Burgundy

Roll dice, choose amongst many different varieties of good tiles, store pieces, place them, and bag those victory points! Set to the theme of Renaissance France, your choices will include animals, buildings, castles, shipping, money, turn order & special powers. Castles of Burgundy is an AWESOME game, scoring 7.99/10 at BoardGameGeek.

I'd call this a medium-hard Euro- game. If you're brand new to Euro-games, meaning you don't even know what the phrase "Euro-games" means, you probably will not enjoy this event. If, however, you've played & enjoyed a few other Euro-games, you're a perfect candidate for this event.

Hollywood District is close to bus, MAX, and freeway, with plentiful, free, on-street parking. Note: 1 shy cat in house, peanuts in feeders on porch, 4 steps w/o handrail to enter. Exact address to be emailed to RSVPs a couple days before the event. Email Heather (flowerpot) if you have specific questions or needs.

You are welcome to bring food, either for yourself or to share, but please no alcohol or desserts.

I will add 4 more RSVP slots for each person who volunteers to bring and teach/lead a table.

The game gets easier to understand every time I play.

If a spot doesn't open up, is it okay if I come to hang out & watch?

Vanessa: I don't tend to go for that generally, but I know you've done it before and it's worked out fine (especially having the sort of job that makes you such an early bird) so I'll put a yes on it.

Thanks Heather. I'm trying not to make a habit out of it & appreciate you letting me be part of the fun. :-)

I'm sick today... hoping I get over whatever this is by tomorrow. Just a pre-warning. Will post tomorrow.

I'm sorry I can't come! I have family obligations. It's been a while since I've seen you all!

I will be there around 6:45-7 pm depending on how work goes but would be happy to wait until the game is played a second time to join in so nobody has to wait for me!

As I recall, you've played before, and could easily be folded into a table a bit late, since you wouldn't need so much "how to play" instruction (which usually takes +/- 25 min). Do, consider yourself encouraged to join the later table. Also, it's likely that there won't be time or desire from other attendees to play the game twice in a row.
