Boom, Bust, Poverty, Riches - Why?, Greenwich, Wed 6th Feb 2013

BUSINESS AS USUAL? Are we running over a cliff? Do we have the right economic and financial theories and mechanisms? Boom, bust, poverty, riches: why?

Come to this symposium and find out.

Only the very rich can hide from the results of poverty which are to be seen all around us in London, more so in other countries. But unless we also deal with the causes of poverty and exploitation the problem will get worse until we are overwhelmed by them, But what are the causes?

At this symposium, we will be discussing both the symptoms and a solution.

Program:

The speakers will make short presentations including excerpts from the award winning Four Horsemen film and a synopsis of the book 'Modernising Money' which is promoted by ‘Positive Money’, an independent think tank. This will be followed by a discussion.

Speakers:

Rev Donald Reeves - ‘Troublesome Priest’
Ross Ashcroft - Polemic film maker
Henry Russell - ‘Ethical banker’

When: Wednesday 6th February at 7.30 pm

Where: St Alfege Church, Greenwich, London, SE10 9JS

Informative and inspiring. Ross Ashcroft was especially illuminating and motivating in that he set the whole thing in a much wider context and captured the atmosphere, the zeitgeist that has got us where we are but made it transparent that we could equip ourselves to do something about it. All the speakers had interesting and iluminating things to say. Great meeting.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
