It's All About Change. Recovery Is a Type of Metamorphosis. REAL Change LASTS.
Use this opportunity to visit with other women and young ladies also dealing with and healing from Post-Traumatic Stress, regardless of the cause. Discussing the "cause" is too painful and negligibly effective for PTS group support, so we don't go there. Discuss symptoms, ask questions, air concerns, learn from others, be inspired by success stories... gain deeper insight into your shared issues and difficulties, network, make new friends; help each other heal.
If you have been looking for a PTS Support Group, this could be it!!! Please join us.
These meetings are for you to be developed by you. I will attend support group meetings to offer support in whatever ways you specify. Please come and make this whatever you need it to be.
[MEN: I am happy to announce that there is interest in forming a PTS Support Group for MEN. Once I am aware that there is enough of a demand (it takes at least 4 attending to hold a "group" meeting), I will start another Meetup and you'll be contacted just as soon as it's up and running. Please contact me through this group by applying to join to let me know that you are interested and I will add you to the current list of 2.]
[ If you do not live in Fort Collins or the Northern Colorado area, apply and let me know where you live (town, state or the like). Due to the "virtual" component of this Meetup, long-distance participation for women is possible. You might still find support through connections with members via the message board and private messages, if that could be of help to you. ]
As far as privacy, if you'd like to remain anonymous online, just use initials or a fake name. We will learn your real name within our group, if you wish.
I have the settings for this Meetup set to "Private". So, as soon as you join, all of the tabs will become visible and available for you to browse. Messages are private like emails and our message board is private for member-only viewing.
Creating Balance is the name of my company. I develop and teach CB Intrinsic (CBi) Programs to help students reduce and recover from many sources of stress. CB stands for Creating Balance. "Intrinsic" means within. Creating Balance is Intrinsic for All of Us - Creating Balance Occurs Within.
The CBi Programs Include:
"Peeling Onions - Finding Peace Again" is for Emotion Management.
"Peeling Onions - Finding You Again" is for Recovery from Stress that overtakes you (and lesser stresses).
"CB Intrinsic Pain Control Workshop" is for learning techniques to relieve and even stop physical pain.
"CB Intrinsic Better Sleep Class" teaches you how to sleep soundly.
I have suffered from all of the above and have recovered. My CBi Programs help others recover, too.
My education and life experiences have enabled me to develop these unique and very effective programs for helping people reach their fullest potential. I share my education and expertise with you so you can more easily rise above and out of the negative impacts caused by your stress. Your education through CBi Programs provides the knowledge and understanding you need to finally find relief.
In the past, I was a research biochemist working on chemotherapy for cancer. I've taught college life science courses. I earned my Master's degree studying Neuroscience at Colorado State University. I've actually attended over a dozen years' worth of semesters at CSU, taking mostly Natural and Life Science courses, but also Psychology and Social Work courses. My education is very broad.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Board Member of the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists. I am also a Certified Master Life Coach and am currently working on becoming a Certified Mediator for Conflict Resolution through Social Work courses from CSU.
I also offer these opportunities for support groups (four or more members must attend to have a "group" meeting). You are encouraged to conduct your own "virtual" meetings by messaging each other privately or by using the message board within this website to interact with other members and plan activities together. Please check the board regularly to interact. Be sure to accept message and email notifications in your setting selections. This is your group. This is for all of you.
Belonging to a Support Group requires participation by definition. Each member relies on other members' willingness to participate. Please be there for each other. Please be active once you've joined and attend several meetings to give this a chance.
Why do I do this? Because it would be so wrong if I didn't. I suffered way too long with PTS and you don't have to. You can free yourself from it. That kind of change is not attained passively. You do have to take action. This is one way you can begin that change -
Isolation is a symptom of post-traumatic stress.
It can easily control your life when you won't control it.
Step One: Join
Step Two: Attend, Interact and Participate
a. Message each other (messages are private, just like emails)
b. Interact with others via posts and replies on the message board
c. Arrange activities with others and participate
d. Attend group meetings
e. Brains resist change .... simply ignore that natural tendency .... let it be
f. Be patient and persistent to give this enough of a chance....
Step Three: Your presence is needed in order to help each other heal.
It's free to join and use the website for communicating and planning activities with others.
Group Meetings held in FtC have associated costs and I do ask for assistance with that.
A suggested $5 donation is Greatly Appreciated for attending Support Group meetings.
We all hope you would like to join and participate.
