Exclusive East Coast Cohousing Event!

Kathryn McCamant and Charles Durrett, the husband and wife architecture team who brought cohousing to the U.S. from Denmark in 1986 will present "20 Years of Building Sustainable Communities" as part of the PR launch for the hot-off-the-press 3rd edition of their book Creating Cohousing:  Building Sustainable Communities.

Twenty years ago, there wasn't a single cohousing community in the U.S.  Now, there are more than 120 completed communities with many, many more in the pipeline.

Residents of cohousing communities

* use 50-70% less energy,

* use 49% less water,

* drive about 60% less than their suburban counterparts,

* and their homes are 60% of the carbon footprint of a typical American home.

Come and hear what you can learn from cohousing about good neighborhood design, sustainability, resource conservation and social collaboration.

This is the only event scheduled by the authors on the East Coast.  Seize this opportunity to meet them in person!

The event is being held in a private residence.  Address sent upon RSVP YES.

Very limited seating.  Sign up now!

The event is being hosted by Cohousing Collaborative, LLC, a local developer of cohousing communities in the DC area.

Meetup has allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met naturally - they're totally different than me.
