Happy Hour and Film: The Long Bike Back

Join us for a screening of the documentary film The Long Bike Back at the Rhodeside Grill in Arlington. The Long Bike Back is a 95-minute documentary film about Pearson Constantino’s grueling recovery from a hit and run bike crash, and his inspiring ride across America with his brother to advocate for road sharing and improved bicycle infrastructure. Filmmaker Julia Wrona, and Pearson Constantino himself, will be in attendance and available to answer questions after the movie.

The PPTC Ex Com has been focusing this year on improving bicycle safety, so we are pleased to have been asked to sponsor this event. It’s a film you don’t want to miss.

Happy Hour will start at 6pm. The Club will provide a selection of yummy appetizers and there will be a cash bar. We plan to begin screening the film about 6:30.

This is 2 blocks from the Courthouse Metro, and there is a small parking lot on the side of the building. (The Rhodeside Grill is where we hold our annual Tour de France Happy Hour.) For additional information contact:

Thank you PP for putting on this event, in style. Great venue, food, vibe. I appreciated the film, Pearson's heart and soul and the film's authentic portrayals. I'm concerned that a film on bike safety and advocacy does not highlight some vital aspects, e.g., visibility (lights, reflective clothing, etc.), paying attention to your body (when it's safe to ride, when it's not), choosing appropriate tires for road conditions and using tire levers for safe tire/tube changes.

Would love to make it, but unfortunately I'll be enjoying some biking in France at that time.
