We've done this one before. I would call this a moderate hike. It's fairly short at only three miles, but there is a long steep uphill at the beginning, and some tricky downhill parts depending on which route we take to get down. Pets are welcome but should be kept on leash.
We'll start at the end of Meadowbrook Lane in Poway:
We'll hike up to the top of the ridge to the south, then go in a clock-wise loop, with a detour at the top to visit the cement slab where I think an antenna station used to be, and then back down to where we started. There are two paths we can take down. One is through a canyon, and is the way I usually take people, but there are some fairly steep, slippery sections, so if people are uncomfortable with this, we can take an easier way down.
Sunset is at 7:21pm.
