The workshop was awesome and well organized! Rebecca broke it down, kept it fun and made it so accessible, that we were all Flatfoot dancing with happy tapping feet, before we knew it. The music was excellent too!

Absolutely a great workshop and fun! Rebecca started with simple steps, then kept adding more, with plenty of opportunity to try free styling as the class progressed. A great bargain for 3 hours of instruction and fun. I'll looking forward to her return.

I've never seen anyone do what Rebecca Stout does in this video - She combines her autobiography + flatfoot dancing + rapping. Don't let that part about rap keep you from watching! :-D

We're fortunate to have this gifted teacher come to Poway.

    This Sunday 9/15 from 11-2

Important that you email Rebecca at flatfootandfancyfree @ or call 424 - 209 - 7443.

    Okay folks,
Your interest was the reason for bringing Rebecca out to teach at the Julian Family Fiddle Camp last April, and darn if ya aren't gonna have a ball with her when she comes to Poway. Rebecca's a force - no really! Sadly (but not too much so), I've a conflicting performance responsibility in Laguna, so HAVE A BALL!

I am wondering about your class “for beginners”. I don’t dance, poor coordination and rhythm and the closest I have to smooth, leather soled shoes are bowling shoes. Looking at your video #1 Flatfooting Basic course, I get lost about 6 seconds in. Is this really going to be a class for beginners like me or is this more for tap dancers who want to learn a new step?

Thanks for a GREAT question. The class is specifically designed for completely novice beginners. The A.S.P.S. Flatfoot 101 course, begins with teaching 10 simple motions--how to find the downbeat in a song, then moves on to 6-10 simple steps. I make it a point to "Meet the people where they are". I will slow things down until we reach a pace that is suitable for everyone. I like to start things much more simply, because I believe it enables each person to find their own unique style.

Do not be afraid! ANYONE can do this class. Bowling shoes are acceptable. As long as YOU like them.
