Janet Beazley's Bluegrass Slow Jam

Slow Jam 2:30pm - 4pm. Doors open at 2pm.

Attendance fee: $5

We are delighted that veteran bluegrass musicians Janet Beazley and Chris Stuart will be coming to Poway the first Sunday of each month to lead their popular Bluegrass Slow Jam.

This Slow Jam is ideal for beginning to intermediate guitarists, fiddlers, banjo, and mandolin players interested in learning the bluegrass repertoire and jamming etiquette.

Each month, we'll learn a new song at a slow, easy pace, and practice kickoffs and endings, taking instrumental breaks, and playing back-up.

ALL AGES WELCOME!

All acoustic instruments welcome!

Bring your friends and family.

Come sing, play, and have a jammin' good time.

In memory of Earl Scruggs, Janet will teach the great Flatt and Scruggs song, Blue Ridge Cabin Home in the key of A. More instructional information is posted under the "Pages" tab of this meetup home page. PDF's are posted in "Files" located under the "More" tab.

Had a wonderful time. Janet was right on, as usual. The singing was off the scale with folks picking up the new song melodies with terrific harmonies! We learned songs in several keys--very challenging. Watch the Discussions for a link to the recordings. Can't wait for next month!

Will folks be welcome if they don't bring an instrument? My autoharp doesn't have the chords for the key of A. I could sing or just listen in.
