The first in a series of six week talks/discussions PHILOSOPHY FOR EVERYDAY LIFE

Session 1.

What’s the use of philosophy? Is it just an interesting academic subject or can it be of practical use in everyday life?

Session 2.

Do I look fat in this? How can we avoid the tyranny of caring about what others think of us? Should we care?

Session 3.

Are we nearly there yet? We can spend most of our lives ‘travelling’ rather than ‘arriving’. How can we learn to enjoy the journey with all its ‘ups and downs’?

Session 4.

What is life if full of care……? Is the stress of modern life inevitable or do we make life harder for ourselves than is necessary.

Session 5.

Who’s in charge here? Is the pursuit of security and control a waste of time? Or are they legitimate concerns?

Session 6.

Whose life is it anyway? Should we each aim to live a useful life? How do we define a useful life? Or are such questions irrelevant?

Pick the session you like the sound of for £6 per session or get all six sessions for £25.

Sessions are led by John de Val.
