Managing Massive Automotive Diagnostic Data Sets

This month we have Mark Goerlich from MTS Technologies who will be sharing his journey into the realm of big data.

MTS has worked with automotive OEMs collecting various types of drive cycle data from pre-production fleet vehicles since 2006. While storage requirements and data management have always been challenges, data acquisition volumes grew by approximately 60X in late summer of 2012 due to increased resolution requirements from the client.

Since that time, data storage consumption has been 3-6TB monthly and continues to evolve.  Mark will be sharing a bit of the history and some of the lessons learned along the way as it relates to data management.
