I am newer to the area (moved here in 2011) and always looking for ways to meet new people and learn new things. I have always been interested in being prepared for emergencies so this group sounds great!
land navigation, water purification, wild edibles (know a few, would like to learn more), outdoor cooking, ways to stay warm if stuck out in the cold (or inside in the cold if a storm knocks out power!), rescue skills to help others, outdoor/camping skills of any kind are always of interest
Well, I see that first aid (I am in the medical field) is specifically NOT included in topics for this group so that is out I guess. I do some canning and gardening, and know some basic bicycle repair skills (bikes are a great way to get around if gas is in short supply or roads aren't passable for cars, at least if it isn't because of a winter storm!!). One skill I could definitely teach is swimming.
I hope Lobstertown is treating you well. I'm only semi-new now, but still love meeting new people. Hopefully we'll connect at a future Meetup :). Happy fall!
