How did you find Primal Living STL and what part of St. Louis do you live?

I now live in Crestwood! I actually found out about this group because of the Grokfeast video on MDA.

What got you interested in the Paleo/Primal diet? How long since you adopted this lifestyle

My fiance was in Afghanistan & we were chatting about our future & how we want to be healthy. I've been on the MDA email list for over a year, but had never really dug into the information. I sent a link to my fiance & we started to research the lifestyle. It completely made sense to us. We often have discussions over what has really changed in the past 100 years to make this country so obese & unhealthy. I came to the conclusion that it is the food. I have two children. I see kids on medication at 5 years old & I think that it is so unnecessary and sad because really they just need a good wholesome diet & exercise and they will stay focused & strong. I've seen the results in some kids. It's amazing. Of course, I let my kids have their treats, but they will carry good choices with them as they grow older. I have been eating Primal (for the most part) since July 2011. My fiance is trying to join me in my endeavors since he is back from overseas for the moment.

What would you like to see us do at the meetups ?

As I said, I probably won't be coming to too many until I can finally move up to STL. It's difficult to add much to our schedule. But on weekends, I would like to see family trips, which I see you guys do (like camping, picnics & potlucks). I'm not a super active person, so any interesting physical activities that all ranges of skill levels can participate in & have fun. Don't worry - I won't bow out of a game just because I'm not good at it. I'll at least try. :)

What issues do you have with the paleo/primal lifestyle?

I don't have any issues with the lifestyle. I think it's right on.

What is the next step you would like to take to live more primally?

I want to exercise more & incorporate more play into my life with my kids. It's difficult because I work full-time & go to school.
