More info about the presenters:

eFitness is a health and wellness service provider to employer organizations. We provide 4 core service offerings that employers can, in turn, offer to their employees: (1) An online wellness portal, (2) Fitness equipment rentals at home or in a corporate gym setting, (3) On-site health screenings, and (4) On-site wellness coaching.

LivinSport is social platform for sports. What LinkedIn does in the business world, LivinSport does for athletes and individuals involved with sports. Athletes, coaches, fans and teams can build sports profiles dedicated to sharing their sports experiences with their fan base. The profiles that athletes build can be used to open up future college recruiting or professional athletics experiences. LivinSport profiles will be what people use to find information about athletes.

True Lifestyle Cost (TLC) - Goole Maps and Bing Maps will tell the distance and how much time it take to go from Point A to Point B but is does not tell what it will cost you.   TripTLC is web/mobile app that helps B2B and B2C users find the True Lifestyle Cost (TLC) by automatically gather information needs to find all cost of travel between Point A and Point B including Gas, Tolls and Parking for cars and Transit.  We will show you the app.

HotSpot - Web editing on the spot.

Private Chat - Tom Martin and Meredith Monroe, both members of the winning team at the Startup Weekend event held this past weekend in Madison NJ - will talk about their experience. They'll talk about how each day started and ended and the ins and outs of the fun and excitement filled 54 hour weekend!  From the initial pitches on Friday to how the team formed and how the multiple complete pivots in 54 hours lead to the winning idea and presentation - and tips for you in participating in a future Hackathon or a Startup Weekend, you'll have a better understanding of what to expect and how to prepare.

eFitness would like to thank everyone who attended and listened to our pitch. If you are interested in learning more about eFitness, please don't hesitate to send me an email at [masked]. To Mark's point below, if I could offer up any words of advice (in retrospect), it has been personal connections more than anything else that have helped us bring our business idea to fruition. Our own personal networks, and the networks we've built and expanded over the past 12 months have been invaluable. These contacts have helped us build out our infrastructure, create leads to potential customers, answer legal and business-related questions, bounce ideas, etc. Case in point, we learned about the Princeton Tech Meetup through a close contact of mine. 5 meetings later, we had a chance to present in front of this very impressive group of entrepreneurs, programmers, and business people, alike! Thanks again to Venu and Chris for giving us a chance to present!

Mark - I though your suggestion was great. As far as Venu's suggestion - I can only offer what I learned from a 54 hour weekend (and the whole two weeks we have been in "business") - Listen. Negative feedback is great to learn from - whether to improve the product, or just improve the product message. Have faith - when your develop says, I will arrive at 2 0'clock the next day (just a few hours before the final presentation) and he promises to have a working backend for the prototype demo - just take a deep breath and have faith that he will show up in time, and have a working solution. And 3 - bring your apple savvy Mom to all demos to run the laptop for you... : )

Moving forward, Mark, I think that is a great suggestion.

Can I make a suggestion? Please? Thanks. If / when there's a demo, aside from the product, can the presenter please share at least one behind the scenes insight? Something along the lines of, "If we knew then what we know now..." Some takeaway for everyone, not just the target market. Demos are nice and inspiring, but (to put it as all consumers do), what's in it for me? Me being the PT Meetup attendee. Thank you for letting me make a suggestion.

    March 26, 2013

    • Mark F. S.

Yup. Don't get me wrong, the demos are great. But unless I'm in the target then there's no takeaway for me. "What's in it for me?" Right? I'm looking for ROI on my time, and the optimization there of :) Also, on a less selfish level I think if the presenters offer such a tidbit, then that's a conversation starter for the post-event session.

Great job Chris and Venu (again). And great job to the presenters for having the courage to start a company and share with the room.

Also, several people mentioned they were hiring. If you are interested in hiring a remote developer, ping me.

Great meeting! Presentations by 4 diverse startups -- all very interesting business ideas. Great presentation on what the "Start Up Weekends" are like. And the networking after was great as usual. Entrepreneurism is alive and well in America!
