This workshop series will cover the fundamentals of design through short expert talks and interactive design exercises; it will focus on how to design products that meet users’ needs in as easy and delightful a way as possible. The free workshops, which are only for students, will meet every other Tuesday at 6:30pm.
Design is about creating something to achieve a goal. Maybe you want to design an iPhone app to help people eat more healthily. Or maybe you want to create a piece of public policy to make financial markets more stable, or to structure an organization so that it operates more efficiently.
No matter what your goal, in order to achieve it, you’ll need to generate, implement, and evaluate various ideas and pick the best ones. Design is the science for doing this. It says that there are methods for generating more ideas and better ones (i.e. ones that are more likely to succeed when tested) than would come from uninformed intuition, and it offers methods for evaluating these ideas early and often.
These are the methods we’ll be covering in our workshops, so please sign up!
