ProductTank Berlin #1: Creative ways of saying NO

Every product guy knows the situation: You have tons of ideas what you want to build with your team. But you're not the only one with great ideas. Marketing comes up with feature requests, Sales wants something completely different and Customer Support has been waiting for months for this new tool which will save the company a lot of money.

The first ProductTank Berlin deals exactly with these kind of problems. How to say NO?

Three speakers will share their opinions on that topic in 20 minute talks.

Speakers are:

Markus Andrezak, Director of Product @My-Hammer AG

Markus Andrezak is working in product development for  high traffic, high revenue products since 1998. For a long time he has practiced Agile and Lean under umbrella, in the last years he has  successfully worked with Kanban. He is currently managing the pivot of  MyHammer.de < http://MyHammer.de >, Europe ‘s leading site for craftsmen.

Roman Pichler, Author and Agile Coach

Roman Pichler is a leading agile and lean product management expert, a Certified Scrum Trainer, and the founder of Pichler Consulting. He helps his clients create great products by providing bespoke consulting, coaching and training services. Roman is the author of four books on Agile and Scrum including Agile Product Management with Scrum.

Till Goehre, Senior Director Product & Innovation @Zanox

Till is an experienced product leader with more than 10 year experience. He started his career founding his own startup in 1999 and later held positions at eBay, mobile.de and spreadshirt. Most recently he is heading up the product & innovation department at zanox, where he has been reinventing the product management process and developing ideas how to innovate the zanox business model. He is a passionate product guy with a strong focus on user experience and metric driven product development.

After the last talk everybody has the chance to discuss in a Q&A session.

Tickets are free but limited.

Update: Due to the high demand ImmobilienScout24 has sponsored additional 30 places. Many thanks for that.

The doors will open at 7 pm. Our first speaker will start at 7.30 pm.

Es hat kaum einer kreativ nein gesagt. Am Ende ging es um agiles Product-Owning. Roman Pichler hatte wirklich viel 'meat'/Inhalt

    May 24, 2013

    • Margarita

    Hi everyone,

Following-up yesterday's metrics discussion, I wanted to make you aware of the following slide deck: http://www.slideshare.net/Leananalytics/introduction-to-lean-analytics-for-lean-startup-circle-sf

    Hope you find it useful.

    Hi all,

some have asked for the list of recommended reading. Here it is.
Some also asked for the slides. I will try to come up w/ a version w/ copyright free pics and then publish it on slideshare. I‘ll then send the link around.

I posted the reading list on my (ugly) blog: http://www.portagile.com/2013/05/the-ist-of-books-recommended-at.html

    Have fun!

Awesome - takeaways: Scrum and Kanban folks have a different way of saying No, even remote talk was good

It was a great event, with a good mix of speakers (2 Leading Product Managers and 1 Consultant). The audience were completly Product Managers. Networking at the bar after the event was also a good location. Only I would prefer to choose a location where it is possible to also order a snack and not only drinks.

    Hi Joelle,

maybe some people can't make it and declare that on meetup such that there will be free spots. ImmobilienScout24 was already so kind to sponsor 30 additional spots. Now the room will be quite crowded ;-)

    Best,

    Lars
