I started this group to meet the most interesting people in the SF Bay Area, those of us who are passionate about the world and doing something about it! That would be you?

Would you like to tell us a bit about yourself and your political interests/activities?

I have been a community organizer and peace activist and currently work in environmental health, but I'm passionate about human rights, peace and social justice, climate change, and economic reform.

What types of events are you interested in seeing for the group?

I'd like to have a variety of events - here are some thoughts - for example, scheduling a movie such as, "The End of Poverty"; a tour of the David Brower Center (gorgeous new building in Berkeley, one of 12 building in the US certified LEED platinum), then adjourning to a bar near UC Berkeley campus; maybe an informal dance lesson followed by dancing; meeting up to hear John Perkins (author of 'Confessions of an Economic Hit Man') when he speaks in the SF Bay Area.

Got your message. Thanks so much for setting it up. By the time I got to figuring out how to post an event, you had posted it! Yes, I will host. Does that mean you won't be there? I will get there around 12:30 to get a spot. Should I bring a sign that says MEETUP? It would be good to mention that in the event description.

hi sumi - I sent you a note 2-3 weeks ago but didn't hear back. I'd like to set up a meetup to see SF Mime Troupe. They will be a Live Oak Park on August 14. I can by there to hold a spot at noon. The show starts at 2PM. Can you post the event?
