Dear Fellow Progressive Singles member:

I will be attending the talk, "A Report Back From the Gulf" at the Brower
Center this coming Thursday, July 15.  Information describing the event is
pasted below.  Will anyone be joining me?  If so, let's get together
afterwards at Jupiter or Beckett's for a drink and discussion.
I recommend that you purchase tickets before the event, if you have not
already done so.  Go to:

Interested in finding out what's really happening in the Gulf? Hear from two
experts who have been in the region since the blowout occurred.
Texan shrimper-turned- activist Diane Wilson and Exxon Valdez survivor and
marine biologist Riki Ott (Earth Island project director of Ultimate Civics)
take a break from their ongoing work in the Gulf to report on the clean-up
effort, the long-term effects on the environment, human health, and local
communities, and how BP can be held accountable.
Wilson is the author of An Unreasonable Woman: A True Story of Shrimpers,
Politicos, Polluters and Ott is the author of Not One Drop, and is featured
in the film Black Wave, about the ongoing legacy of the Exxon Valdez oil
spill.
Together, they'll provide an unflinching look at one of the worst
environmental disasters of our time, with an emphasis on what we're going to
do about it.
Book signing to follow.
