Wisconsin Ave Bridge Celebration

Hello evenyone. I was hoping we could do a short beginners kayak from the Urban Ecology Center to the Wisconsin Ave Bridge Celebration downtown. There is a free beer for anyone that kayaks.

    How was it Saturday?

If there's not alot of water, like now, not passable. Plus does anyone have an idea to get back up river to the put in site? I suggest put in a laccey and joys, then it's an easier paddle back to launch site. I need to confirm when LJ opens, no fee to put in I think.

Sad to say but I have to back out for today, something came up this morning. Perhaps I'll make it down to the celebration later.

Lackie and Joys open 10 - 5 Saturday and has a customer lot or on street. No fee. Must be back before they close or take out somewhere else.

OK I was planning on kayaking but as I am new to it and reading about the rapids, (what level would you say they are?) I am thinking that I might be better off canoeing. Larisa I am an experienced canoeist and would prefer the stern if you want to paddle together! LOL

So have we thought about transportation back to the UEC? The river can be hard to navigate around the North Ave rapids specially for a canoe.
Can launch from Lacky & Joys, Milw. Rowing club, or park on State st. I think it is.

I wish I could join you! Maybe I can if I can figure out how to fit it in this Saturday. Question: I have a sturdy aluminum canoe I can bring to events, but I need a partner who can paddle it. I can teach someone how to paddle a canoe if they aren't confident with their skills.
