Starting a Project with ExtJS 4

This presentation will walk you through setting up the initial project directory structure and how those directories work with the Dynamic Loader and the new MVC architecture.  We will also talk about setting up SASS/Compass and begin to build our own custom theme.  Finally, we'll show you how that extra level of structure and customization can give you an application that is well organized, easy to extend and has its own unique look.

Tim was very organized and his personal experiences helped form a more complete picture about working with ExtJS. I'll keep these ideas in my back pocket for future projects.

Hey everyone, some specifics about parking and access at Swipely tonight:

We have a small lot adjacent to the building which we share with Vanity Bar in the evenings. There will be valet guys manning the lot but if you say you're visiting Swipely they should simply let you park yourself. We'll let them know we're expecting a few folks tonight too. It's also free parking on the street although it's usually pretty full.

Once parked, walk around to the end of the building with the large black wooden doors - we'll leave them unlocked for you. Then up the stairs and the first door on the left has a Swipely sign on it, it'll either be open or you can ring the bell.

We've got Nice Slice pizza arriving around 7pm and have plenty of soda/water/beer/snacks.

Wifi will be "Swipely Guest" with a password of "augprovjs".

Hope that covers it - ping me otherwise.

    Thanks!

Wish this had come earlier. Wasn't able to negotiate free parking, had to bail.

@Tomasz. We also have a number of good blog posts on our company site, many of them are ExtJS related. http://moduscreate.com/blog/

@Timothy Eagan - thanks for reply :) I would like to learn Ext JS but in Poland we have a very small community of Ext JS developers. I'll be waiting for code and presentation. Little video library of all meetings would be nice, it would be nice start for all newbies like me :)

@Tomasz At the very least, I'm going to push the presentation and code up to Github. I'm going to see about recording some of it but I need to find a videographer :-) You can always shoot me questions if the slides are unclear.

Is the meeting only on location? I would like to attend somehow, maybe it will be possible to stream meeting? Or record it :)

Not quite downtown, but Swipely is happy to host. Our office is 39 Pike St, basically the end of Wickendon towards downtown.

We'd also be happy to provide the beer, but don't let that stop folks from venturing out!

@Christopher - I'm going to take you up on that for the next (Sep-Oct) meeting.

I'm a Boston native, but I'd be happy to come down and give a talk on the Ember.js state manager if people are interested.

Or a more low-key bar = The Point Tavern on the East Side might do but it's small

Hey Shane. I love the beer at Trinity. That's my first choice for beer after the meet. Do they have meeting space?

Also open to suggestions on location. I'd like something downtown if possible. Plenty of parking at Providence place and plenty of beer choices.

I'm also open to suggestions, especially if there's something else JavaScript related that others would rather here about.
