Nice meeting you all! To those of you who I mentioned the video about testing your attention, here's a link:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
The guy who did this study made a similar video before, so if you think you've seen it already just watch it to the end. I think you will be surprised by the results!

The people were great. Unfortunately the venue was extremely noisy and does not allow for intelligent conversation.

If anyone recently got their PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology OR is interested in pursuing graduate school OR knows anyone fitting the above two categories... please let me know.

Aug 6th is the kick-off for the book club, so we won't be discussing the book. The book we'll be discussing in September is The Willpower Instinct.

There are a lot of places in Hell's kitchen (Midtown West) that could accommodate a large group and don't require a fee. The back room of Gossip, a bar-restaurant, which should be relatively empty in a Monday, and Renaissance Diner, which serves alcohol for those who wish but not cocktails if that's what you're looking for. Renaissance worked well for another meet-up I went to. It'll be a lot less of a headache for you to have a place where there's no fee to congregate.

There are plenty of venues, as long as we book ahead of time. Do we have a price range in mind?

    Hey Jenny,
If we can't find a suitable indoor venue, we could always meet in the Park!

    Hi All,
Welcome to the group! So excited to meet all of you. I'm new to NYC so let me know if you have any recommendations of where we could meet. I'm looking for a place that can accommodate 30 + people standing around, not too loud, and serves alcohol.

    Best,
    Jenny
