The PCLP will hold its March meeting Wednesday, March the 12th at 6:30pm in The East Room of The Main Library, 100 S. Rock St. Little Rock. Refreshments will be provided; donations appreciated, but not required.
Brian Shank, LPAR's Second District Representative will give the pre-meeting presentation: "Does our voting system stifle third parties?" concerning the problems with our current voting system and alternatives to it.
We will elect new PCLP officers at this meeting. PCLP offices include: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Parliamentarian; email [masked] for a copy of our bylaws that contain a description of these offices and their duties.
Congratulations to all our 2014 LPAR candidates. You can see our slate of candidates at this link: http://lpar.org/elections/2014-candidates/ Be sure to "like" their Facebook pages and share them with your friends to show your support for the hard work these folks will be doing over the next 9 months.
Due to multiple possible interpretations of our bylaws, changes to our bylaws can be made at the March meeting or electronically from now until March 30th. I will submit a proposal to clarify the wording on this bylaw; and I encourage everyone to look over our bylaws and submit proposals for improvements. All submissions will be voted on during the April meeting. Please note, since I will not be seeking re-election as Chair of the PCLP, these submissions need to be made to [masked], rather than my personal email.
