I'm thrilled to announce that Tim O'Reilly, the CEO of O'Reilly Media, will be the featured speaker kicking off the fall season of The Publishing Point. "In Conversation with Tim O'Reilly" will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 29th at 12:30pm in midtown Manhattan. RSVPs will open up on at 10:00am tomorrow (Wed., Aug. 18th).

I expect slots to fill up quickly so if you'd like to come, please make sure you sign up as soon as RSVPs open. Note that there is usually a long waiting list so if for some reason you can't attend, please be sure to take yourself off the list (and not at the last minute) so that others can attend in your place.

In case you're not familiar with Tim (shame on you if you haven't smile since he's one of the smartest folks in publishing today), here's his bio:

Tim O'Reilly is the founder and CEO of O'Reilly Media, Inc., thought by many to be the best computer book publisher in the world. In addition to Foo Camps ("Friends of O'Reilly" Camps, which gave rise to the "un-conference" movement), O'Reilly Media also hosts conferences on technology topics, including the Web 2.0 Summit, the Web 2.0 Expo, the O'Reilly Open Source Convention, the Gov 2.0 Summit, and the Gov 2.0 Expo. Tim's blog, the O'Reilly Radar, "watches the alpha geeks" to determine emerging technology trends, and serves as a platform for advocacy about issues of importance to the technical community.Tim's long-term vision for his company is to change the world by spreading the knowledge of innovators. In addition to O'Reilly Media, Tim is a founder of Safari Books Online, a pioneering subscription service for accessing books online, and O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, an early-stage venture firm.

If you have any questions, please contact me at sdanziger[at]dailylit[dot] com. You can also follow Publishing Point on Twitter @publishingpoint; the hashtag is #pubpt. Also, please let me know if you have any specific questions you'd like Tim O'Reilly to address.

Hope to see you there!
