Zuke's Hike in Beulah Mtn Park (note new Start time 2:00 pm)

I am posting this early, so we don't put another hike on the same day as Zuke's.  Check the calendar a few days before to make sure that date and time do not change.  Got this info from Michelle, who is the guest relations representative at the Pueblo (Beulah) Mountain Park.

INFO: This is a great hike for dogs and their people (women, men, & children).  I'm planning on going - it doesn't get cancelled unless there is a torrential downpour, or heavy snowfall.

There are several great trails in this park, especially during the fall months..  The actual trail they take is dependent on the weather and group that attends.

(This hike is lead and sponsored by the Pueblo Mountain Environmental Center/Park .)

Also, the dogs are allowed off-leash after we go by the trailhead sign just a short distance.  However, please bring a leash..it's important that we keep our pups under control, especially if we have to pass other hikers that are not as fond of dogs as we are!

Premeetup: I will meet you at the Horseshoe Lodge between 1:45 & 2:00 pm.  I will be in a brown/gray Yukon with a Stowaway container on the hitch, and red/white meetup magnetic signs on the doors.

Directions: From Northern Ave., take Highway 78 West toward Buelah. As you enter Buelah, continue on HIghway 78 as it curves left; that road is also labeled as Pine Drive.  Continue approximately 2 miles to Pueblo Mountain Park main entrance, which will be on your right.  Enter the park, and follow the signs to the Lodge.  I will meet you in the Lodge parking area, in a gray, brown GMC Yukon.

NOTE: Check the weather for Buelah before you leave; you might need to bring a light raincoat, etc.   Often, the weather is SIGNIFICANTLY different between Pueblo/Pueblo West & Buelah, so it is best to check the forecast at www.weather.com.

BRING: water for you and your dog, a collapsible bowl if you have one, leash, hiking poles if needed for balance.  Would also recommend shoes with good tread.

ARRIVAL TIME: Try to be there at about 1:45 pm.  Sandy leaves right at on time! That will give us time get the dogs on a leash, and sign the waiver form.

RSVP: Please go to www.hikeandlearn.org call Pueblo Mountain Park at[masked] to RSVP.

RSVP on this site as well to let me know you are going.   There is a possibility I will have room for one or two more people, or one person & small/medium dog.  Give me a call  or text [masked]) Friday or Saturday, if you would like to go with me.

I'm going to try to get there, but we have a mom dog with 8 new babies from one of the Lab rescues in Denver - they take up more time than you can imagine! So leave without me if I don't show on time OK?
