Create Single Page Web App

The CSI Pune Chapter is glad to announce a series of 3 workshops providing very in-depth knowledge for creating Single Page Web Applications. In this workshop, you'll learn to build modern browser-based apps that take advantage of stronger client platforms and more predictable bandwidth. this is link to my slides of the haskell presentation given recently in ruby on rails user group conference : https://github.com/are... Plz fork it or just download it , and if u are fans of oggy and cockroaches / gogo u'll love it . My point is if u can give butterscotch with crispy chips(html5 presentation) why serve VANILLA'S(ppt) .

      February 19, 2014

    • ANKIT

@akshay @Vishwajeet https://github.com/are... u still opt for vanilla ?? And u can now on use the same in any of your future presentations coz it's "COMPLETELY FREE !!" . and if u want i could suggest other html5 presentation that are their . PPt are done , those dogs days are over . No one not even kindergarten student use it anymore .

Had a chat with a member of CSI organizing team. Here is what is proposed for the fee:

    WORKSHOP 01: INR 4000
    WORKSHOP 02: INR 5000
    WORKSHOP 03: INR 6000

Breakfast, lunch and evening tea will be provided during the workshop.

Max 30 registrations are allowed per workshop.

Students get 50% off and CSI members get 10% off.

Booking for more than one conference, you get another 5% off.

Let me know if this looks reasonable.

Dates are yet to be confirmed.

@akshay lets do some concrete mathematics . i'm saying the definitive costs . i'm just saying finding a way to began . lets cut also 50 % on last part for students . i.e var totalCost = 0 + 1250 + 3000; // === 4250 ; and as student which are new to js / only beginners might just skip last as they are not ready for the same . means their cost === 1250 ; thank u .

It depends on how you want to work .... If you like more magic, less work and need less power, You may go for EmberJS..... Using BackboneJS you get a lot of power to do things as per your need. The framework does not assume too many things.

Sounds interesting! Exactly what I wanted! Can you tell us the fees for this workshop? And date? Time? Location ?

    January 15, 2014

    • A former member
      A former member

Location is typically CSI office (off law college road). It has a hall that can seat 30 people for the workshop. If significantly more people show interest, we need to find some other venue.

Date we can decide by mutually. Full 3 days are needed. I think 3 Saturdays will suit most of the people.

Exact Fee is not known at this moment. CSI people will calculate the fee per their structure. They typically have some discounts for CSI members and subsidize it for students.
More participation will reduce the per person fee.
