Puppymill rescue dogs support group! Pages

Puppymill Rescue meetup is for those who have adopted or are fostering Puppymill survivors. We all know that this is much different then your regular dog who you have adopted. Some are worse off then others. The dog needs to go at his/her own pace. And we need to have patience.
There is a video worth purchasing Adopting a Puppymill Dog- Everything you need to succeed.
If you don't want to purchase we will on occasion show the video.

Here are some articles that you should read that have some helpful information.

If your dog is taking food from you easily or will eat if you toss it to floor, here are some simple training exercises. Don’t do anything that will scare the dog and good to start with really short mellow training sessions for mill dogs. I recommend using the word “Yip” softly instead of using clicker as that sound may be scary for many dog from puppy mills or hoarding situations or other isolated or traumatic backgrounds.

If in the area, Rockville, MD, I have created a Free Adopter Workshop and have paired up with two trainers I know well and trust. One of us will present the workshop without dogs once a month. Go to

If you would like more in depth one on one help , give me a call and see my site.
