Coursera Python Basics Study Group!

Hello everyone! At the end of the workshop, several of us discussed meeting together to work through this coursera class together which begins today:

I got the email addresses of several interested people, and wanted to put a message out here on the group to see if anyone else would like to attend.

Erica Douglass at Opportunity Space has been gracious enough to make this place an open house as far as any workshop/study group is concerned; in addition I work here so I can set up the space or any materials we may need. I know East Austin might be a bit of a drive for some of y'all but I think this is going to be a great opportunity to work on really learning Python, and with a great group of like-minded and focused people in a distraction-free (yet homey!) zone.

If you haven't signed up for the class already you can still do it on coursera's website. I'll be emailing to the people I have on hand right now, and if I hear from any more people I will add you to the list!

Please post here about your meetup day preferences. I can do weekends after 2pm, and weekday afternoon/evenings.

Thanks Barbara. I would love to have a coffee sesh! I think this is a great opportunity to take a step back, assess and determine how to proceed with getting what we want out of learning python.

Hey ladies, I'm not going to make it tonight after all. I don't really want to take away from your study time anyway, but I have an idea: Once this class is done, let's get together over coffee someplace and talk about next steps - other classes you might take, other skills you'll need to add, and some open source projects you might participate in if you're looking towards a programming career with Python.
